The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has good news for career-minded women: “Research shows that cancer survivors who continue to work are as productive on the job as other workers.” Of course, interacting with colleagues and clients can be challenging if you aren’t comfortable with your appearance. Look Good…Feel Better group programs help women feel more confident — a key to remaining vital in the workplace. In fact, keeping pace with career during treatment bolsters many women in managing their health, as well. On this Web site, you’ll find inspiration, make-over steps, hair help, and other great tips — plus resources
for co-workers
.

To manage a wide range of needs during treatment, including career concerns, contact the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345. We also recommend:

and caregivers.

NCI’s “Facing Forward: Life After Cancer Treatment”— A guide for people who were treated for cancer, available online or by mail (1-800-4-CANCER). Includes valuable advice on workplace issues and social relationships.
