Since 1989, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation and the American Cancer Society have joined together for the DreamBall, raising over $31,000,000 for the Look Good. . .Feel Better program. The black tie gala is hosted every September at the beautiful Waldorf=Astoria hotel in New York City. It is attended by leaders of the cosmetic, personal care products and fashion industry who have supported Look Good. . .Feel Better since its beginning in 1989.
This year, the industry will honor two respected leaders: Eric Thoreux, Coty, and Robert Amen, Chairman and CEO of International Flavors and Fragrances.
Jane Jamison, VP/Publisher of Seventeen magazine and a Look Good. . .Feel Better graduate and cancer survivor, has also been selected as the "DreamGirl" and will address the assembled cosmetic industry leaders to provide a personal testimonial about Look Good. . .Feel Better. Look
Good...Feel Better®
Look Good...Feel Better® (LGFB)
is a national public service program created from the concept
that if someone with cancer can be helped to look good, their
improved self-esteem will help them to approach their disease
and treatment with greater confidence. LGFB offers
suggestions and advice on dealing with the appearance related
side effects of treatment through their Web sites, brochures,
and group programs offered in hospitals nationwide. LGFB
is a free, non-medical, product-neutral program offered through
a collaboration of the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, a charitable organization
supported by the cosmetic industry, the American Cancer Society,
and the National Cosmetology Association.
ACS administers the program
nationwide, NCA enlists its members to participate as Look
Good...Feel Better® cosmetologists,
and the Personal Care Products Council Foundation, on behalf of the cosmetic industry,
provides the makeup, materials, and financial support for the
program. Financial support for the program includes the
joint fundraising effort of the DreamBall, hosted by the ACS
and supported by the cosmetic industry. In addition,
each year, the cosmetics industry donates more than one million
pieces of cosmetics valued between $8 and $10 million.
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based
voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer
as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives,
and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education,
advocacy and service.

Cancer Society has joined hands with the cosmetic industry
to offer Look
Good...Feel Better®. Fifty percent
of the net DreamBall proceeds are granted to the Personal Care Products Council Foundation
