Who Looks Good and Feels Better? – The People Behind the Program

Since the program began in 1989, more than 370,000 women have participated in Look Good…Feel Better® sessions and noticed a major change in their approach to their life, their families and their work. Here’s what a few of the recent participants had to say:

“I didn’t know I could ever look like this again. I just didn’t think that I could ever get that healthy glow from makeup. With my ‘new’ face and hair, I feel like I could walk out and conquer the world.”
– Carol Udycz

“The session was like being a teenager at a make-up party. I found it so easy to forget that I was there because I had cancer.”
– Cherie Schofield

“My hair started coming out today. The only thing that got me through the morning was knowing this program was today. Earlier, I felt less than human. Now, I am leaving with hope!”
– Daphne Key

“There is very impressive data which shows that support programs like Look Good…Feel Better have a significant impact on the survival rate of women cancer patients. Look Good…Feel Better has helped to galvanize people around the importance of supportive care for cancer patients."
– Dr. Marc Lippman, Professor and Chairman, Internal Medicine, University of Michigan

“Before I went to a session, I was at a very low point. I didn't like myself, I felt very sick. But, when I put on the makeup, I could see the old me coming back.”
– Madeline Chittenden

“With my new hair, I felt beautiful. I felt glamorous. When my neighbors saw me, they said they loved my haircut. They didn’t even realize it was a wig.”
– Marian C. Bennett

“What a wonderful support ‘party’ during a very emotionally and physically challenging time for us cancer warriors.”
– Carol White
